Goals and Reports
Set goals such as monthly clicks or inquiries and track progress. Build weekly and monthly reports, send them, and share them with clients
Decide in numbers what you're writing for
What happened because of an article matters more than how many articles you published. Under "Sorabun > Goals & Reports," set a number and a deadline, and you'll see where you are and whether you'll get there at the current pace.
Progress for each goal also appears at the top of the dashboard. The AI Director (Pro) picks actions that recover lagging goals first.
Set a goal
Under "Add a goal," choose three things. You can keep up to 8 goals.
- What to measure: pick from the table below
- The target: e.g. 3,000 (clicks)
- The period: "Every month" (counts from zero again each month) or "By a deadline"
| Number | How it's counted | Available in |
|---|---|---|
| Published articles | Articles published during the period | Lite / Pro |
| Clicks from search | Actual Search Console figures | When Search Console (Site Kit) is connected |
| Search impressions | Actual Search Console figures | When Search Console (Site Kit) is connected |
| Keywords in the top 10 | Tracked keywords ranking 10th or higher | Pro |
| Keywords cited in AI Overviews | Tracked keywords marked "Cited" | Pro |
| Inquiries | Inquiries received, excluding those judged as spam | Lite / Pro |
| Paid article sales | Amount paid for paid articles | Pro |
| CTA clicks | Clicks on in-article CTAs | Pro |
| AI API cost (estimate) | Estimated amount paid to AI providers, in yen | Lite / Pro |
Numbers that describe a level at a point in time, like "Keywords in the top 10," don't reset each month, so only "By a deadline" is available. Progress is measured from the value on the day you set the goal.
AI API cost is treated as a cap you don't want to exceed. When the forecast goes over the cap, you'll see "Likely to exceed the cap."
Reading progress
Each goal card shows the current number, the target, and a bar. The vertical line in the bar marks where you'd want to be by today.
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Achieved | The target was reached |
| Ahead | At least 10% ahead of where you'd want to be by today |
| On track | At this pace, you'll reach it by the end of the period |
| Behind | At this pace, you won't reach it |
| Missed | The period ended without reaching it |
| Likely to exceed the cap / Over the cap | For a cost goal, the forecast or the actual amount went over the cap |
| Not measurable yet | The number isn't available yet (for example, before Search Console is connected). This is never treated as behind |
"At this pace, by the end of the period" extends the growth so far to the end of the period. The first few days of a month swing a lot, so treat it as a rough guide.
Search Console data is imported every day
When Search Console (Site Kit) is connected, Sorabun automatically imports clicks, impressions, and average position once a day and keeps them by date. Previously they were only imported when you pressed "Sync Search Console data" on the Rank Tracking screen.
The daily import runs as the administrator who connected Site Kit. If you see "The last import failed," open the "SEO Insights" or "Rank Tracking" screen once as that administrator.
Monthly trend and articles that led to results
Monthly trend lists the last 6 months. The current month shows figures up to today. Months that can't be counted, such as those before recording began, are left blank.
Articles that led to results lists articles that led to inquiries or sales during the period, and articles whose CTAs were clicked.
- Inquiries are counted by the article the form was sent from. Inquiries received before this feature was added have no article. The "Inquiries" screen also shows the source article for each one
- Sales are counted by the paid article that was bought
- CTA clicks are only recorded as a lifetime total per article, so they aren't filtered by period
Build and send reports
Under "Create now," build a weekly report (the 7 days up to yesterday) or a monthly one (last month). "Create and view" shows it on screen. "Create and send" also sends it to the recipients below.
A report covers goal progress, this period's numbers and the change from the previous period, articles whose search clicks rose or fell (when Search Console is connected), articles that led to results, and what to do next. The 24 most recent reports are kept.
Send automatically
Set this under "How reports are sent." The default is "Don't send." Emails never start arriving without you choosing it.
- Send automatically: Don't send / Weekly (on the morning of the chosen day) / On the 1st of each month
- Recipient emails: separate multiple addresses with commas. Recipients get the internal version, including costs
- Slack / Chatwork (Pro): also sends a summary to the destinations connected under Notifications
Share with a client
Open a report and press "Create a link for clients" to get a link that works without logging in. Agencies can use it to report results to clients.
- The client view never shows "What to do next." Turn on "Hide AI costs" to hide costs as well
- Enter a "Client name" to show it at the top of the report
- The link uses a long, unguessable string and is kept out of search engines. Press "Stop the link" to disable it immediately
