Installation and License Activation
From installing the plugin to activating your Pro license key
System requirements
- WordPress 6.4 or later
- PHP 8.1 or later
- At least one AI API key for article generation
Installing Lite (the free edition)
From "Plugins > Add New" in the WordPress admin, search for Sorabun, install it, and activate it.
Installing the Pro edition
The Pro edition is installed through an installer sent to you after purchase. Here's how:
- Log in to My Page and download the installer ZIP
- Upload the ZIP under WordPress's "Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin" and activate it
- Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your license key (
SRB-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) - Once activation succeeds, the full plugin downloads automatically and becomes the Pro edition
This delivers the full plugin only to sites that have passed license activation. Future updates also come directly from our own server, so you can update to the latest version straight from WordPress's update notifications.
Activating / deactivating your license
There's a License activation section at the very bottom of "Sorabun > Settings."
- Activate: enter your key and press the button
- Deactivate: press this when migrating your site, or when you want to use the license on a different site. Deactivating frees up one site slot on your plan
Article generation won't run while unactivated. If you see a warning in the admin screen, check your key's activation status.
You can also check which sites are using which slots, and deactivate them, from My Page.
Updates
Where to check
| Location | What you can see |
|---|---|
| Settings > License Activation > Version | Your current version, and whether a newer one is available |
| WordPress "Plugins" screen | Update notifications and an update button |
| WordPress "Dashboard > Updates" | Same as above (bundled together with your other plugins) |
| Changelog | What changed in each version |
How to update
If your Pro edition is activated, new versions appear in WordPress's "Updates" screen. Update it the same way you would any other plugin.
New version information is fetched every 12 hours. If you want it to reflect a version that was just released, press "Check for updates" in the settings screen, and it fetches immediately.
Pressing "Check again" on WordPress's update screen also discards Sorabun's cache and fetches the latest information.
Enabling automatic updates
You can have WordPress update automatically whenever a new version is released.
- Open "Plugins" in the WordPress admin
- Click "Enable auto-updates" at the right end of the "Sorabun Pro" row
That's all it takes. From then on, WordPress applies new versions automatically as they're released.
You can also check whether this is currently on under "Settings > License Activation > Version."
In versions before v2.7.7, the update source wasn't correctly communicated to WordPress, which caused this message. Updating manually to the latest version resolves it.
Automatic updates are convenient, but if a problem appears right after an update, it's easy not to notice that article generation has stopped. We recommend enabling failure notifications under "Settings > Notifications."
For one-time purchase plans
Update delivery stops one year after purchase (the plugin itself keeps working). If you want to continue receiving updates, purchase a renewal license from My Page.
